Who We Are
Mr. Lance’s Steam LLC was built out of love for Hawaiʻi and deep concern for its future. In recent years, the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB) has devastated many of Oʻahu’s coconut trees, and the threat continues to grow across the islands. Left unchecked, this invasive pest could wipe out coconuts and then move on to other culturally and economically important plants such as bananas, hala, and taro.
Our mission is simple: stop invasive species at the source in a way that protects the land and people of Hawaiʻi. We use advanced steam sterilization technology paired with specially trained K9 detection teams to locate infestations and eliminate them without the use of chemicals. Our work is 100% natural, clean, and safe for plants, animals, people, and the ʻāina.
Why Steam
Steam is powerful, simple, and sustainable. Unlike pesticides, steam is made of nothing but water. It penetrates mulch, compost, and green waste piles, destroying CRB larvae and other invasive organisms without leaving behind toxins or residue.
